Sit the back cover aside. When refastening the antenna plate, make sure you use the right screws in the right places. Step 5: Do not fully lift off the antenna plate, because the antenna is still fastened to this plate.
Upgrading the RAM in the Mac mini isn't what I would call Mac mini comes with two 4GB memory modules for a total of 8GB of RAM. Changing out the RAM in the Mac Mini used to be a really simple this much, simply grab a 16GB kit made up of a pair of 8GB RAM sticks.
Step 6: Once the antenna screw is removed, gently lift the connector off its socket on the logic board. Sit the antenna plate aside.
Start by removing the four screws that secure the fan to the logic board and exhaust vent. Step 8: Once the screws are removed, gently lift the fan and detach its connector from its socket on the logic board. Remove the fan and sit it aside. Step Unclip and slide out the logic board assembly by gently applying pressure to the ears where the screw holes are of the exhaust vent. The Logic board assembly should slide completely out of the Mac mini housing. Step Remove the RAM by spreading the tension clips away from the memory modules.

We haven't yet gotten a definitive answer from Apple , but the odds are you're voiding your warranty. You also might break the machine, since everything is so very tiny. This is what Apple means when they say upgrading RAM in this computer is not for consumers.

This is easy if you're just slightly careful. Remove the round metal base: This has six tiny screws. Use your T6 bit and be careful. Remove the fan: There are four screws, two on the side, and two near the top. It's not hard to remove, but the two near the top are inside the uniframe body, so be careful. You'll also have to remove a connector from the fan.
This is delicate, so here's a theme be careful. Remove the motherboard. There are two connectors near the back of the motherboard. One is ultra-tiny and one is larger.
Remove these two with care, and then gently slide the motherboard out in the direction of the ports. Take a deep breath. This is new for Mac Minis. Also remove the two rubber bumpers on the side of the RAM. Both the cage and the bumpers slide up and back. Then remove and replace your RAM OK, that's about it.
